Despite efforts from some religious groups, particularly American \u201cpro-life\u201d groups visiting Kosova in the weeks prior to its adoption, the Constitution protects women\u2019s reproductive rights.<\/p>\n<p>KWN sent a statement to the Constitutional Commission, countering the American delegation\u2019s lobbying efforts. In the letter, KWN stated that Kosova\u2019s Constitution guarantees women\u2019s \u201cright to personal integrity,\u201d which includes \u201cthe right to make decisions related to reproduction,\u201d and Article 25 states, \u201ceach individual since birth has the right to life.\u201d Critiquing \u201cpro-life\u201d arguments that life begins at conception, KWN remarked, \u201cin cases of miscarriages that occur during the first two or three months of pregnancy, no [religious institution] organizes a funeral.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following KWN\u2019s and other letters from Kosovar human rights groups, the Commission did not revise the draft Constitution related to this point.
