{"id":1111514,"date":"2017-05-03T16:58:49","date_gmt":"2017-05-03T16:58:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"ada-trains-its-project-and-programmes-representatives-on-gender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/sr\/ada-trains-its-project-and-programmes-representatives-on-gender\/","title":{"rendered":"ADA Trains its Project and Programmes Representatives on Gender"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<span style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Apr. 25th, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.entwicklung.at\/en\/countries\/danube-regionwestern-balkans\/kosovo\/\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Austrian Development Agency (ADA)<\/a><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"> organized a training on gender for around 20 representatives of projects and programmes it supports, including Kosovo Women&rsquo;s Network (KWN) representative.&nbsp;<\/span><br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The need for the training aroused based on the fact that ADA seeks to &ldquo;ensure the equal participation of women and men and girls and boys in all projects and programmes, altering discriminatory societal and social norms and practices: Women and men shall have equal access to education and resources, such as land, income and capital&rdquo;. Gender mainstreaming as a whole plays a very important role in ADA projects and programmes.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;At the same time, the training is in line with the adoption of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/en\/press\/press-releases\/2015\/10\/26-fac-conclusions-gender-development\/\">European Council Conclusions<\/a> on the <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/europeaid\/joint-staff-working-document-gender-equality-and-womens-empowerment-transforming-lives-girls-and_en\">EU Plan of Action for Gender Equality (2016-2020)<\/a>. The plan aims to promote gender equality, which is mandatory for international cooperation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/index_en\">European Union (EU)<\/a>: They apply to the EU member states, the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/europeaid\/general_en\">EU Directorates-General for International Cooperation and Development and for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/echo\/who\/about-echo_en\">Humanitarian Aid Office of the European Community<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/eeas.europa.eu\/headquarters\/headquarters-homepage_en\">European External Action Service<\/a>.&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The agenda of the training included information on main gender concepts; ADA Gender Quality Assurance and Minimum Requirements; Gender Continuum; a summary of Kosovo&rsquo;s legal framework on Gender Equality; sector specific requirements of EU Plan of Action for Gender Equality (2016-2020); as well as group work on Monitoring &amp; Evaluation framework of ongoing ADA projects.
