{"id":3347324,"date":"2020-10-08T09:54:35","date_gmt":"2020-10-08T09:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/?p=3347324"},"modified":"2020-10-12T10:53:38","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T10:53:38","slug":"wba-holds-trainings-on-the-gender-equality-index","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/sr\/wba-holds-trainings-on-the-gender-equality-index\/","title":{"rendered":"WBA Holds Trainings on the Gender Equality Index"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the framework of the \u201cGender Equality Index in Local\nSelf-Government in North Mitrovica\u201d initiative, the member organization of the\nKosovo Women&#8217;s Network (KWN), Udru\u017eenje Poslovnih \u017dena (WBA) held trainings and\nmeetings with Office for Communities and Return, Gender Equality Officers,\nrepresentatives from the Office for Social Welfare and Health, Chief of Urban\nPlanning and official of the coordination mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although gender equality index is a relatively new concept\nin Kosovo, its importance was acknowledged by participants who through an\ninteractive discussion understood more about basic concepts, differences\nbetween gender and, the role of women and men in society as well as stereotypes\nthat have traditionally prevailed among us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/79441507_1306553506217906_2904294466519040000_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3347320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/79441507_1306553506217906_2904294466519040000_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/79441507_1306553506217906_2904294466519040000_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/79441507_1306553506217906_2904294466519040000_n-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/79441507_1306553506217906_2904294466519040000_n-265x200.jpg 265w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>WBA also conducted trainings led by expert Radmila\nKapetanovic and Olivera\u202fMilosevic, Executive Director of\u202fWBA with eight local\ngovernment officials and six coordination mechanism officials on the concept\nand implementation, as well as how to complete questionnaires, compile\nstatistics, in every six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChange comes slowly, changes will come when everyone\nrealizes that equality is a right that belongs to every woman and girl. Gender\nbudgeting is not only for women, but it is for both genders\u201d, said Radmila\nKapetanovic, a lecturer at this workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training was held in Gracanica where the former Minister of Local Government Administration, Adrijana Hodhiiq and the Deputy Mayor of Graicanica were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/indeksi-WBA.jpg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is indeksi-WBA.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe do not have many women in decision-making positions, we\nshould not compete for positions but rather support each other, show\nsolidarity. Women should contribute to their positions\u201d, said former minister\nAdrijana\u202fHod\u017ei\u0107.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants during the training learned how everyone in\ntheir field can contribute to monitoring and improving the Gender Equality\nIndex.
