{"id":3347599,"date":"2020-10-28T14:15:38","date_gmt":"2020-10-28T14:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/?p=3347599"},"modified":"2020-10-28T14:15:40","modified_gmt":"2020-10-28T14:15:40","slug":"euloc-successfully-completes-their-initiative-on-promoting-gender-responsible-budgeting-at-the-local-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/sr\/euloc-successfully-completes-their-initiative-on-promoting-gender-responsible-budgeting-at-the-local-level\/","title":{"rendered":"EULOC Successfully Completes Their Initiative on Promoting Gender Responsible Budgeting at The Local Level"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Organization for local reforms \u201cEuloc\u201d within the initiative\n\u201cGender budgeting policies and practices at the municipal level\u201d held meetings\nand workshops with local government officials to discuss various topics on Gender\nResponsible Budgeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"934\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/EULOC-i-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3342866\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/EULOC-i-1.jpg 934w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/EULOC-i-1-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/EULOC-i-1-768x478.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Beneficiaries of this initiative were a total of <strong>71<\/strong> participants (<strong>35 women and 36 men<\/strong>), officials from the Directorate of Urbanism,\nPlanning and Environmental Protection, representatives from the Office of\nCorrection, representatives from the Municipal Directorate of Education,\nDirectorate of Health and Social Welfare, Municipal Assembly, Decision-making\nCommittee, Directorate of Public Administration, Directorate of Culture, Youth\nand Sports, Main Family Medicine Center &#8211; Viti, representatives from the\nCommunities Committee, the Policy and Finance Committee, the Municipal Office\nfor Returns and Communities , Office of Civil Status, Office for Gender\nEquality, Office of Finance, Office of the Mayor, Office for Communication and\nInformation, Center for Social Work, Directorate of Public Services,\nrepresentatives of non-governmental organizations, Youth Center. A large number\nof these representatives were trained on topics such as: Gender structure\nmodel, gender budget mainstreaming and standard gender budgeting tools<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Latife Neziri, Training Consultant, emphasized the\nimportance of involving women and men in all stages of the decision-making\nprocess. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGender budgeting is a budget analysis from a gender\nperspective, resulting in differences in its impact on men and women,\u201d Neziri\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/105708831_4205899802784100_1252342035117652105_n-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3347589\" srcset=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/105708831_4205899802784100_1252342035117652105_n-1.jpg 720w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/105708831_4205899802784100_1252342035117652105_n-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/105708831_4205899802784100_1252342035117652105_n-1-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On 18 June in Viti, EULOC hosted a roundtable in order to\npresent the findings and recommendations from this initiative. Participants in\nthe discussion panel were municipal officials, as well as representatives from\nNGO Euloc, Florim Brahimi, Executive Director of EULOC, Latife Neziri, Project\nTrainer, and Melihate Osmani, Manager at EULOC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results from the research were presented by Florim\nBrahimi where he showed graphics and corresponding percentages from the survey\nconducted in 11 villages of the Municipality of Viti. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBased on the meetings with various groups, it has been\nrecommended that more women and young people should be more involved in\nmunicipal committees so that their voices can be heard.\u201d said Brahimi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The project\ncoordinator, Melihate Osmani, added that in the framework of this research,\nduring the period of November 2019 to January 2020, volunteers interviewed 200\nrandom respondents (women and men) from small villages in the Municipality of\nViti, such as: Viti, Smir\u00eb, Pozheran , Drobesh, Begunc\u00eb , Fshati Ri , Kabash ,\nV\u00ebrban , Skifteraj, T\u00ebrpez\u00eb, Binc\u00eb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis survey research focused on gender equality, gender representation\nand economic empowerment of women, and the obtained results show that the\ncitizens of the Municipality of Viti do not have much knowledge in these areas.\nTherefore, we as an organization need to continue this project to have more gender\ninvolvement in the future.\u201d said Osmani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The findings of this project, as well as the\nrecommendations obtained from the trainings, can be found in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HpEZMt60gMvf3WSR13spbikrdmD9iHyeQs5ueZQXKtw\/edit?fbclid=IwAR2nLYSiDD1cDUD4pyCkKxBDFy3WO6kVOiBP9785DZDQcC0lxmOT_MVVjEY\">the report of the\nOrganization&nbsp;for local reforms \u201cEuloc\u201d.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative is supported by the Kosovo Women\u2019s Fund (KWF) and\nfunded by the European Union (EU) Office in Kosovo.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the EULOC organization, there are 17 other member organizations benefiting from the 13th round of the KWF.
