{"id":3350521,"date":"2021-07-02T12:09:03","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T12:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/?p=3350521"},"modified":"2021-07-02T12:21:39","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T12:21:39","slug":"wb-csos-share-experiences-addressing-gender-based-discrimination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/sr\/wb-csos-share-experiences-addressing-gender-based-discrimination\/","title":{"rendered":"WB CSOs Share Experiences Addressing Gender-based Discrimination"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Diverse civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Western Balkans (WB)\ngathered online for an \u201cImpact and Learning Forum\u201d to share successes,\nchallenges and ideas for the way forward in their joint efforts to address\ngender-based discrimination and further women\u2019s labour rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partner CSOs presented their work and achievements through illustrative\nvideos, animations, poems, photographs and stories. These included examples of\ncases in which they helped women who had faced gender-based discrimination\nrelated to their labour rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, \u201cOne of the women we helped, in addition to being a victim of domestic violence, was also discriminated against in the workplace. After the <a href=\"https:\/\/womensnetwork.org\/counselling-line-for-women-and-girls-empowers-them-to-report-gender-based-discrimination-at-work\/\">help<\/a> we offered, she was hired in a small shop and now she feels stronger to fight for her rights&#8220;, said Einxh Pepa from the Counselling Line for Women and Girls in Albania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, partners voted on the best visibility materials created, and\nthe Trade Union of Media of Montenegro won an award of \u20ac500 for their short\nfilm and poem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We expanded our fights<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For equal rights,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We sought to preserve<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What women deserve<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We gave them support<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Expect our report<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Now, see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZA5ygCTgHiQ\">movie<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>It&#8217;s nice and groovy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Attention, please<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Discrimination falls on\nknees <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partners\u2019 joint Action is\nfunded by the European Union and co-funded by Swedish Development Cooperation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diverse civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Western Balkans (WB) gathered online for an \u201cImpact and Learning Forum\u201d to share successes, challenges and ideas for the way forward in their joint efforts to address gender-based discrimination and further women\u2019s labour rights.
