This report presents the first comprehensive gender analysis of land transportation in Kosovo, examining how transport systems affect diverse women, men, girls and boys differently across the country. Using an intersectional approach, the analysis reviews laws, policies, budgets and municipal practices, drawing from survey data, interviews, focus group, and case studies from Pristina and Dragash municipalities. The findings show that transportation is not gender neutral, highlighting barriers related to access, safety, affordability, disability, ethnicity, place of residence and care responsibilities. It also discusses the transportation sector’s links to climate change, public health and social inclusion. The report concludes with concrete recommendations for central and municipal institutions to support the development of transport systems that are safer, more accessible, more equitable, and more climate-responsive.
