On 27 September, the Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN) joined Race for the Cure Kosovo, organised by KWN member organisation Renesansa in cooperation with the Directorate of Health in the Municipality of Pristina. 

Race for the Cure is the world’s largest walking and running event dedicated to raising awareness and supporting the fight against breast cancer. Held annually in more than 140 cities around the world, the event brings people together to celebrate life, honour those who have lost their lives to breast cancer and show solidarity with those affected by the disease. 

Funds raised through participation fees and donations support organisations and initiatives providing assistance and services to women and girls affected by breast cancer. The event’s Kosovo organiser, Renesansa, offers information, support and assistance to women affected by breast cancer and their families. The organisation also works to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, screening and access to healthcare, including through educational activities and awareness campaigns. 

KWN was pleased to join this year’s event and stand alongside Renesansa in supporting its important work to ensure that women affected by breast cancer have access to information, support and care.
