Programs

The Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN) mission is to support, protect and promote the rights and interests of women and girls throughout Kosovo, regardless of their political and religious beliefs, age, level of education, sexual orientation and abilities. KWN has a vision of a Kosovo in which women and men are equal and have equal opportunities for education, employment, political participation, health care and a life without violence. KWN’s Strategy includes four program areas, described below. KWN implements its Strategy in close cooperation with its 140 member organisations and partners.

Despite improvements, insufficient solidarity among women hinders the establishment of an inclusive, diverse and sustainable feminist movement. Women’s rights activists, organisations and individual women need further support, capacity development, networking, outreach and solidarity to build an inclusive, sustainable feminist movement.

KWN’s Strategy

The long-term goal of this program is to strengthen the feminist movement in Kosovo, the region and beyond.

Objectives include:

  • Establish a strategy for the advancement of feminism in Kosovo and progress towards its implementation.
  • Increase solidarity among women’s rights organizations.
  • Improve the organizational capacity of KWN and its members towards long-term advocacy and sustainability.
  • Improve the funding climate for women’s rights organizations.
