Call for Gender Experts

The Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN) is updating its pool of gender experts who would be interested in working with KWN in the future. KWN maintains a list of experts who may be contacted to provide services, as needed. When opportunities exist, KWN will contact experts in the pool of experts who fulfil the minimum qualifications to inquire as to their interest and availability for specific works. Experts shall be selected for each work opportunity based on availability, qualifications and daily rates. Depending on the works, the type of tasks may include but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Analysing laws, policies, and programs from a gender perspective
  • Gender mainstreaming laws, policies, programs, and project documents
  • Interviewing diverse actors for social research
  • Moderating focus groups
  • Analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data
  • Drafting policy briefs, papers, reports
  • Delivering training and mentoring

Candidates should have at least five years’ experience in one or more of the following areas, as illustrated in their CV and the Qualifications Matrix (see Annex 1):

  • Gender equality
  • Gender analysis
  • Gender-based violence
  • Gender-responsive budgeting
  • Gender-based discrimination
  • Women’s economic empowerment
  • Women’s political participation
  • Women’s health
  • Gender-responsive approaches to climate change
  • Education that transforms gender norms
  • Women, Peace and Security
  • Gender-responsive approaches to agriculture and food security
  • Gender-responsive digitalisation

Candidates must possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of gender equality concepts
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Ability to work independently

Any expertise in the following areas should be highlighted in CVs and the Qualification Matrix (Annex 1):

  • Public policy knowledge/expertise
  • Knowledge of the EU and how it functions
  • Experience gender mainstreaming documents
  • Knowledge of logical framework approach
  • Qualitative/quantitative research skills, including interviewing, focus group moderation, textual analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis
  • Experience conducting research using a feminist approach
  • Knowledge of Ethics in Conducting Research with Human Subjects
  • Strong English writing skills
  • Fluency in Albanian, Serbian, and/or English
  • Training/mentoring skills related to gender equality

Annex 1. Qualifications Matrix

Please complete the following matrix in word or Excel and submit it via email with the other documents mentioned above. Please indicate years of experience in numerical format (e.g., “5.5” for five and a half years). If none, please leave blank.
